Mantis hexapod

Mantis Hexapod robot
Some robots are cool because they’re fast,
some because they’re incredibly human-like
and some because they’re just terrifyingly
aggressive. Admittedly, we’d all like to be seen
hanging around with such machines. But for
pure posing potential, there’s nothing quite
like sitting in the control pod of a two-tonne,
diesel-powered, hydraulic spider robot. The
Mantis Hexapod, for instance.
The Mantis robot was designed and built by UK
company Micromagic Systems over a period of
four years. The company specialises in hexapod
– six-legged – robots, but standing at 2.8
metres tall, the Mantis is somewhat larger
than their usual products. Indeed, it’s the
largest spider robot in the world.
According to Chief Designer Matt Denton, the
six-legged design means that the machine can
keep at least three legs on the ground at a
time, enabling it to remain stable.
The Mantis can be driven from within the pod
or controlled via wifi remote and can travel
over any terrain. Basically, it’s just what you
need.

Trading in danger by elizabeth moon

In Trading in Danger, Elizabeth Moon
introduces readers to Kylar “Ky” Vatta as she’s
being discharged from the military. Ky,
fortunately, is a member of the Vatta family,
owners of Vatta Transport Ltd a powerful space
trading corporation based on the rich planet
Slotter, so she can fall back on her family’s
company as a means to an end. However, her
heart was in the military and in the first
chapter, Moon’s depiction of the Ky’s
discharge is one of the strongest novel
openings which immediately generates empathy
and sympathy for the protagonist. It may seem
a simple thing and with little introduction to
or knowledge of Ky, but a great sense of
emotional turmoil and shock is conveyed
through what Ky experiences and how she
deals with it through her internal dialogue. I
immediately began rooting for Ky to succeed
and felt that way over the course of the novel.
I think I like the character of Ky Vatta even
more than Moon's more famous character
Paks.
Throughout the remainder of the novel, Ky’s
plight does not get any easier. She is given a
derelict of a ship Glennys Jones to run one last
job/mission, which of course does not turn
into “one last job.” Along the way of this last
job, Ky takes on another job in her name,
rather than in the name of her father’s
company. Ky wants to branch out on her own,
make a name for herself. When her father,
Gerard, set her on the task of “one last job”
for the ship, he suspected she might get
herself some more contracts and go a little
rogue. What he, nor Ky, expected was that the
major communication ansible at the spaceport
would be destroyed, one of those jobs she
takes would lead to a contract with a
Mercenary crew – the Mackensee Military
Assistance Corporation – and that job would
involve holding on to some passengers for a
time. What everybody involved didn’t expect
was that some of those passengers would be
pirates who are connected with messing with
the ansibles, attempt mutiny on Ky’s ship.
Fortunately, Ky’s military training kicks in
which allows her to handle the situation
amazingly well.
I am a fan of Elizabeth Moon ’s writing,
although I’ve only read her fantasy output . Not
surprisingly, her storytelling, writing and hand
at character just as strong when she shifts to
Science Fiction. Like her fantasy, there’s a
strong military flavor to the novel which,
considering her experience as a Marine, is only
natural. In that sense, the novel feels quite
natural and plausible. Overall, I enjoyed the
novel a great deal and plan on reading through
the remaining books in the series sooner
rather than late, which I define as ‘within the
next year.’
There came a point near the end of the novel
when one of the characters – a mentor
character by the name of Quincy Robin – was
giving Ky some advice. Good advice from a
place of love and respect. It was a great scene,
and I came to a realization. This character was/
is a woman whose first name is Quincy and
often is referred to by that first name. From
my experience, and this is probably flavored
by the television show Quincy starring Jack
Klugman, I was both reading this character as
a man and a woman. Maybe a better way to
say that is with gender blinders? All I know is
that I wasn’t placing a value on the character
because of her gender. Multiple times in the
narrative, Moon refers to Quincy as “she” or
“her” but my preconceived notion of the
character as a man because of the name was in
conflict with that. I wasn’t placing a value
judgment on the character of Quincy or her
gender, but it was a conflict (of sorts) in my
own head. As a result, I realized the gender of
the character didn’t factor negatively or
positively into my respect and admiration of
the character, Quincy was simply a well-
wrought character who happened to be a
woman.
This “gender blindness” or “zero value gender
judgment” came at a time when I’d read a few
novels in a row by women and just prior to
Trading in Danger, I read (and enjoyed)
Ascension by Jacqueline Koyanagi. Both novels
feature women protagonists in novels most
often associated with male writers which would
most often feature male protagonists. With
both of these novels and the protagonists, I
felt a connection to their plight, felt invested
in their emotions and rooted for them to
succeed.
I’d like to think I’ve always read gender in
characters this way, not as a value in a positive
or negative, but as an element of the
character. There’s ever more talk, at least in
the twitter circles that I follow, about gender
in genre. So this is just my little two cents on
the subject. At least for now.

The 2000AD sci-fi special

The 2000AD SCI-Fi SPECIAL 2014
Available in the shops from 28th May
“It was one of the staples of hazy childhood
summers, an extra dose of Thrill-power for the
holidays. But now the 2000 AD Sci-Fi Special
is back and with a new mission - to unveil a
new generation of comics creators!” So goes
the promotional hoo-haa that came with my
copy of this blast from my past, a bleedin’
Summer Special, no less.
I have great memories of being a wee man and
my mother buying a few Summer Special’s and
saving them for us to read in the car on the
way to some wretched caravan park or other.
As a kid, it was nice to have an oversize comic,
although as an adult you notice more the large
panels designed to pad out the likes of The
Beano and Dandy specials. 2000AD was,
predictably, different. Not necessarily in a
good way for, like the annuals of the time, the
Summer Special was stuffed with rejected
scripts, reprints and shoddy articles.
It’s 2014 now, and Tharg knows his readers
are mostly grown men and woman who will
not accept rejected scripts and reprints, so in
a bold move the Sci Fi Special has been
rejigged as a platform for new writers and
artists, handling classic 2000AD characters.
What a great idea… in theory.
A Summer Special, like any comic, is only as
good as it’s contents, and this is where the
2014 version falls down like Oscar Pistorius’
defence. First up we have a Judge Dredd tale,
“Jinxed”, which just happens to be from the
first female Dredd writer, namely Emma Beeby.
Let's be honest, though, this fact is pretty
immaterial. Emma has written the lovely
“Survival Geeks” 3riller with Gordon Rennie,
which I really enjoyed, but “Jinxed” is just not
very good. Basically it’s almost a carbon copy
of the old Strontium Dog story “A Sorry Case”,
but it’s Dredd having a ton of bad luck. The
saving grace is the very nice, clear art by Eion
Coveney.
Next up we have Alec Worley, best known for
“Age Of The Wolf” (which I thoroughly enjoyed)
with a Robo-Hunter tale illustrated by
newcomer to 2000AD Mark Simmons. Set in
Sam Slade’s earlier days it has a pop at the
likes of Ikea and design snobs to little effect.
Basically, it’s quite a dull story with a few
good lines and competent art. There’s really
not much else to say, except I wanted better
from Sam’s return.
It wouldn’t be a Sci Fi Special without a Future
Shock, this time by Jody LeHeup, better known
for his editing work with Marvel than as a
writer. Also from the Marvel stable is Artist
Jefte Palo, who has illustrated plenty of
superhero stuff. His unusual, modernist style
works very well with the story, which is a bit
of a tried and tested tale that blows it’s
“surprise” ending to anyone who has ever read
this sort of thing before. Nonetheless, it’s well
written and quirky enough to remain in the
mind after the reading, making it the best one
so far.
Fan favourite Durham Red (A vampiric bounty
hunter) returns next, with a cute one off tale
by relatively new scripter Robert Murphy. He’s
aided and abetted by another new boy Duane
Redhead, a very appropriate name for a
Durham Red artist. The story itself is basic and
pretty entertaining, with Red doing exactly
what regular readers would expect her to, and
Redhead’s art fits the story well, clear and
nicely laid out. It will certainly be interesting
to see what these two can contribute in the
future.
There’s a nice little treat up next as veteran
Future Shock scripter (amongst other things)
Arthur Wyatt gives us a blast from the past
with “Orlok, Agent Of East Meg 1”, which is set
during Dredd’s time as moon marshall for
those that like to know their continuity. Jake
Lynch provides rough but effective black and
white art that gives an appropriately gritty feel
to a tale of espionage and betrayal in Brit Cit.
A good, solid story as expected from Wyatt,
and a good introduction to a new artist.
Finally, it’s time for Rogue Trooper, currently
shining in his own U.S title from IDW. It’s
written by Guy Adams, who entertained
recently with the hilarious if overlong “Ulysses
Sweet”, and for his Rogue debut he’s settled
for a neat one off that provides plenty of
action and jumping about whilst ensuring new
readers aren’t too confused about who this
blue bloke is and why is he talking to his gun.
Art comes from newcomer Darren Douglas,
who has done cover work before but not, I
think, an internal story. In fairness he’s a great
find, and his style is similar to that of Boo
Cook, full of colour and action. Again, the
story is a simple one, but it works well as a
quick read.
Overall, then, this is an okay release. Although
it starts off pretty poorly it certainly gets
better, and if a few of the scripts are found
wanting there’s certainly a great deal of great
art to get your teeth into. Not quite a thrill
power overload.

Amazing things of amazing world

The Monastery of Tatev - Armenia !!
Tatev Monsatry (Tatev) is a masterpiece of
confluence of ingenious medieval
architecture and fabulous nature of
Armenia. There is no doubt, that Tatev is
one of the most spectacular tourist
attractions on the Planet. Tatev was also
widely regarded as one of the most famous
spiritual and educational centers of the
Middle Ages.
The Monastery of Tatev is
a 9th century Armenian monastery located
on a large basalt plateau near the Tatev
village in Syunik Province in southern
Armenia. It stands on a plateau on the edge
of the deep gorge of the Orotan (Vorotan)
River. It became the bishopric seat of
Syunik and played a significant role in the
history of the region as a centre for
economic, political, spiritual and cultural
activity.
In its day the monastery itself had a
population of 1,000 and owned 680
villages.  A vast wealth. It was a huge
center of learning, art and culture. The
Tondrakians, a medieval Armenian hippie
sect fought the church rule in widespread
revolt, including those in villages belonging
to Tatev, before finally being stamped out.
In 990AD, King Vasak even burned down
Tsuraberd village to end their revolt.
The Sts. Paul and Peter church was built
between 895 and 906. An arched hall was
added adjacent to the southern wall of the
Sts. Paul and Peter in 1043. Soon
afterwards, in 1087, the church of St. Mary
was added along the northern fortifications.
In 1295, the church of St. Gregory, which
had been destroyed during an earthquake,
was replaced with a new one through the
initiative of then Metropolitan Stepanos
Orbelian. In 1787, the mausoleum of St.
Grigor Tatevatsi was built adjacent to the
western wall of the St. Gregory Church and
in the end of 19th century a vestibule and
bellfry were added at the west entrance of
the Sts. Paul and Peter.
The monastery was seriously damaged after
an earthquake in 1931, the dome of the Sts.
Paul and Peter church and the bell tower
were destroyed. In the latter years the Sts.
Paul and Peter church was reconstructed,
but the bell tower remains destroyed up to
today.
Aside from the buildings, the monastery
boasts an upright pendulum, known as the
Gavazan (staff). This column was built in
the tenth century following the completion
of the Sts. Paul and Peter church and has
survived numerous invasions and
earthquakes relatively unscathed.
There is a lot to see at the Tatev Monastery,
from churches to tombs to khachkars (cross
stones) to medieval living quarters.
Undoubtedly, your trip will be full of
savory moments not to be forgotten.

Make android faster

Does your android device run slow? well,
almost everybody answered yes to that and so
we will continue to modify some settings on
our phone and free up some much needed
space for your android device.
This method requires some basic observation
and logical judgement, If you could balance
them well, you could decide to disable some
apps and make your android run faster. Head
over to your Settings > Application Manager.
Swipe left until you come to the "ALL" sub
section.
Here are some of the apps that we disabled,
We didn't use them and really wanted to stop
them from hogging memory space. Since it is
only "disabled", you can always "enable" it
later, if you change you mind or if something
doesn't work out.
We never really needed to print anything from
our phone so we disabled the print services,
similarly we disable cloud services, dropbox,
some live wallpapers, ChatON, Hangouts and
some google services like books, games,
magazines, movies.
We don't use picasa, so we disabled Picasa
Uploader, we have office suite installed so we
disabled polaris office viewer and never
needed samsung apps, google play store is
much better.
T
With fewer apps running in your android
device, you can expect your android to run
faster and battery to run a little more than
before.

Signal green audi RS7

Audi just gave the RS7, together with the
rest of the A7 family, a new look. The
changes are discrete and mainly target the
headlights. We don't know about you, but
we always thought the RS7 doesn't need
better headlights. What the quattro RS
flagship does need is a killer color to match
its personality.
Say hello to the RS7 Sportback belonging to
Australian tuner ECS Tuning. It doesn't have
the facelift headlights, but it does have an
awesome coat of Signal Green. It's an official
color, but not one you'll be able to get without
digging deep into your pockets.
Just like Porsche, Audi offers color
customization options though its Exclusive
catalog. The RS7's acidic tone can be
accompanied by anything from black wheels to
cream white leather seats.
Most Audi buyers drivers pick grey or black
because they're the businessman uniform and
don't affect the resale value. But who needs
resale value when your 560 horsepower all-

look?
Launched in 2013, the RS7 is a large five-door
coupe that combines a 4-liter V8 with twin
turbocharging to deliver a sprint from zero to
100 km/h (62.14 mph) takes just 3.9 seconds.
If the customer request the speed limiter to be
deactivated, this car can comfortable take four
people up to a top speed of 305 km/h (189.52
mph).

Bugatti EB110
The Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is a mid-engined
sports car , designed and developed by the
Volkswagen Group and manufactured in
Molsheim, France by Bugatti Automobiles
S.A.S.
The Super Sport version of the Veyron is the
fastest street-legal production car in the
world, with a top speed of 431.072 km/h
(267.856 mph). [4] The original version has a
top speed of 408.47 km/h (253.81 mph). [5] It
was named Car of the Decade (2000–2009) by
the BBC television programme Top Gear. The
standard Bugatti Veyron won Top Gear' s Best
Car Driven All Year award in 2005.
On 6 April 2013, Bugatti set the record for
having the highest top speed of any roadster in
the world with the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse,
reaching on average a top speed of 408.84
km/h (254.04 mph). [6][7]
The Veyron's chief designer was Hartmut
Warkuss, and the exterior was designed by
Jozef Kabaň of Volkswagen, with much of the
engineering work being conducted under the
guidance of engineering chief Wolfgang
Schreiber.
A number of special variants have been
produced. In December 2010, Bugatti began
offering prospective buyers the ability to
customize exterior and interiors colours by
using the Veyron 16.4 Configurator application
on the marque's official website. [8][9]
Origin of the car
In 1998, the Volkswagen Group purchased the
trademark rights on the former car
manufacturer Bugatti in order to revive the
brand. [10] Starting with the Bugatti EB118 ,
they presented at various international auto
shows a total of four 18-cylinder concept cars.
At the 1999 Tokyo Motor Show, the first study
of the Veyron was presented. [11] At the time,
the name of the concept car was "Bugatti
Veyron EB 18.4," and it was equipped with a
3-bank W 18-cylinder engine instead of the 2-
bank W 16-cylinder engine of the production
version. While the three previous prototypes
had been styled by Giugiaro, the Veyron was
designed by the Volkswagen stylists.
The decision to start production of the car was
taken by the Volkswagen Group in 2001. The
first roadworthy prototype was completed in
August 2003. It is identical except for a few
details to the later series variant. In the
development to series production, however,
considerable technical problems had to be
addressed, so that the start of production was
delayed repeatedly, until September 2005. [12]
Name origin
The Veyron EB 16.4 is named in honour of
Pierre Veyron, a Bugatti development engineer,
test driver and company race driver who, with
co-driver Jean-Pierre Wimille, won the 1939
24 hours of Le Mans while driving a Bugatti.
[13] The "EB" refers to Bugatti founder Ettore
Bugatti and the "16.4" refers to the engine's
16 cylinders and four turbochargers.[14]
World record controversy
At the beginning of April 2013, driving.co.uk
(also known as Sunday Times Driving) began an
investigation following claims from US car
maker Hennessey that its 928 kW (1,244 bhp)
Hennessey Venom GT was the new world’s
fastest production car , taking the crown from
the Guinness World Record-holding Bugatti
Veyron Super Sport. With a recorded speed of
427.6 km/h (265.7 mph) the Hennessey was
3.4 km/h (2.1 mph) slower than the Veyron
but Hennessey dismissed Bugatti’s official
record saying that the Veyron Super Sport was
restricted to 415 km/h (258 mph) in
production form and that for it to achieve its
record top speed of 431.0 km/h (267.8 mph),
the car used was in a state of tune not
available to customers. Hennessey said its
Venom GT, on the other hand, was road-ready
and unmodified and was therefore a
production car in the strict sense of the term.
[15] There is also contention about whether
the Hennessey Venom GT is in fact a "series-
production" car as it can only be registered
for road use in the US as a (modified) Lotus
Exige.
Driving.co.uk requested clarification from
Guinness World Records, which investigated
this claim and found that indeed the
modification was against the official guidelines
of the record. Upon finding this, Guinness
World Records voided the Super Sport's record
and announced it was "reviewing this category
with expert external consultants to ensure our
records fairly reflect achievements in this
field." [16]
After further review, SSC, the producers of the
Ultimate Aero TT, said that they had reclaimed
the record. [17] However Guinness World
Records later said they had reinstated the
Super Sport's record, after coming to the
conclusion that "a change to the speed limiter
does not alter the fundamental design of the
car or its engine." [18]
Bugatti Veyron (2005–2011)
Specifications and performance
The Veyron's quad-turbocharged W16 engine
The Veyron features an 8.0-litre, quad-
turbocharged, W16 cylinder engine, equivalent
to two narrow-angle V8 engines. Each cylinder
has four valves for a total of 64, but the VR8
configuration of each bank allows two
overhead camshafts to drive two banks of
cylinders so only four camshafts are needed.
The engine is fed by four turbochargers and
displaces 7,993 cubic centimetres (487.8 cu in)
, with a square 86 by 86 mm (3.39 by 3.39 in)
bore and stroke.
First U.S. Bugatti Veyron on display in April
2006
The transmission is a dual-clutch direct-shift
gearbox computer-controlled automatic with
seven gear ratios , with magnesium paddles
behind the steering wheel and a shift time of
less than 150 milliseconds, built by Ricardo of
England rather than Borg-Warner , who
designed the six speed DSG used in the
mainstream Volkswagen Group marques. The
Veyron can be driven in either semi-automatic
or fully automatic mode. A replacement
transmission for the Veyron costs just over US
$120,000. [19] It also has permanent all-wheel
drive using the Haldex Traction system. It uses
special Michelin PAX run-flat tyres , designed
specifically to accommodate the Veyron's top
speed, and cost US$25,000 per set. [19] The
tyres can be mounted on the rims only in
France, a service which costs US$70,000. [19]
Kerb weight is 1,888 kilograms (4,162 lb). [20]
This gives the car a power-to-weight ratio,
according to Volkswagen Group's figures, of
530 PS (390 kW ; 523 bhp) per ton.
The car's wheelbase is 2,710 mm (106.7 in).
Overall length is 4,462 mm (175.7 in) which
gives 1,752.6 mm (69.0 in) of overhang. The
width is 1,998 mm (78.7 in) and height 1,204
mm (47.4 in). The Bugatti Veyron has a total of
ten radiators: [21]
3 heat exchangers for the air-to-liquid
intercoolers.
3 engine radiators.
1 for the air conditioning system.
1 transmission oil radiator.
1 differential oil radiator.
1 engine oil radiator
It has a drag coefficient of C d =0.41 (normal
condition) and C d=0.36 (after lowering to the
ground), [22] and a frontal area of 2.07 m2
(22.3 sq ft). [23] This gives it a drag area, the
product of drag coefficient and frontal area, of
C dA =0.74 m2 (8.0 sq ft).
Engine output
According to Volkswagen Group and certified
by TÜV Süddeutschland, the final production
Veyron engine produces 1,001 metric
horsepower (736 kW ; 987 bhp ) of motive
power , and generates 1,250 newton metres
(922 lbf·ft ) of torque. [2][24] The nominal
figure has been stated by Bugatti officials to be
conservative, with the real total being 1,020
metric horsepower (750 kW ; 1,006 bhp).
Top speed
German inspection officials recorded an
average top speed of the original version of
408.47 km/h (253.81 mph) [5] during test
sessions on the Ehra-Lessien test track on 19
April 2005.
This top speed was verified by James May on
Top Gear in November 2006, again at
Volkswagen Group's private Ehra-Lessien test
track. May noted that at top speed the engine
consumes 45,000 litres (9,900 imp gal) of air
per minute (as much as a human breathes in
four days). The Veyron at the time had the
highest top speed of any street legal
production car. Back in the Top Gear studio,
co-presenter Jeremy Clarkson commented that
most supercars felt like they were shaking
apart at their top speed, and asked May if that
was the case with the Veyron at 407 km/h (253
mph). May responded that no, the Veyron was
very controlled, and only wobbled a tiny bit
when the air brake deployed. [25]
The car's everyday top speed is listed at 343
km/h (213 mph). When the car reaches 220
km/h (140 mph), hydraulics lower the car unti

10 reasons why do we root antroid

1. Blocking ads
Yep, ads make the world go around, but
preferably not all over my Android device,
thanks. Ad-blocking favourites like AdFree,
AdAway and Ad Block Plus have themselves
been blocked from Google Play, but they still
exist on the web. (Free tip: if you don’t want
root access, you can still kill ads by turning off
your device’s Wi-Fi.)
2. Unlock hidden features
Having root access to your device opens up
your device to its full potential from using the
awesome Xposed framework to turning off
those annoying camera shutter sounds on
devices that don’t offer simple mute options.
It even enables screen capturing on older
devices.
3. Run more apps
Without root access, Google controls what you
can and can’t do on your Android device. Root
access puts you in total control – I use a
cheap, old Android 4.0 tablet as a home server
with a 500GB drive, all thanks to the Samba
FileSharing app on Google Play.
4. Gain more speed
Serious geeks overclock a computer, right?
Your Android device is a computer, right? It
might not do your battery life much good, but
gain root access, grab SetCPU from Google
Play and you can overclock your device’s
processor (with care) for extra zip, which can
be very handy on high-powered FPS games.
5. Improve battery life
Who doesn’t want better battery life from their
portable devices? Root access not only enables
you to overclock your device’s CPU through
the SetCPU app, but underclock as well.
Dropping the processor speed down can help
reduce power demands.
6. Get comprehensive backup
Could you get all of your data back if your
Android device carked it? Root access allows
you to install custom recovery features to
make (and restore) full device backups should
anything go wrong. Alternatively, it also
enables Titanium Backup, arguably the best
Android backer-upperer going around.
7. Ditch the bloatware
If uninvited ads on your Android device are
bad, bloated pre-loaded junkware is worse.
Gain root access and you can dump that
bloatware once and for all. Grab NoBloat Free
and System App Remover, both from Google
Play. One tip though – try disabling an app for
a day or two before uninstalling and don’t
uninstall must-have Android apps.
8. Run a newer Android
Hate seeing a new Android OS release and
waiting f-o-r-e-v-e-r for your phone maker to
push out an update? Us too. Root your
Android device, install a custom release or
‘ROM’ and get the latest Android now.
OmniROM and CyanogenMod are our
favourites and support a wide range of recent
phones.
9. Add external storage
Most Android devices now carry USB-OTG
ports that allow them to host external devices.
Get root access, download USB-OTG Helper
from Google Play and you can mount USB
sticks and externally-powered hard drives on
your Android device, even those with NTFS
formatting. Works on most Android devices,
but best of all, it’s free.
10. Game like a console
Sure, your Android device gets you all social,
but what about serious gaming? Root your
phone, grab SixAxis from Google Play and turn
your Android device into a gaming box
controlled wirelessly from your Sony
DualShock 3 controller. Test using the free
SixAxis Compatibility Checker before you buy.www.wordpressinspiration.blogspot.com

4 easy steps to hack a website

Step 1: Identifying
The Hacktivists first identify their target
website which they want to attack upon. They
first qualify the website, according to the
vulnerability level, they wish to attack.
Checking the vulnerability of the website allows
the hacker to prepare tools and techniques
required to bring down the website.
Hackers generally use Google Dork, or Google
Hacking, to execute a vulnerability check
against these easy-to-hack websites. It was
very recent that a hacker posted a list of
5,000 such websites which were really easy to
be attacked. If they don’t wish to Google it
out, they can Bing it. This tool is heaven for
hackers as it helps in qualifying such websites.
Hackers have a ready-to-refer index of Dorks
which points out the websites having a
particular vulnerability. Right from passwords
to Login credentials, there is Dork available for
everything. They would Google “intitle:”Index
of” master.passwd” which will return them a
file containing the passwords and then they
have the list of potential victims ready with
them to execute the hack.
Step 2: Spotting the vulnerabilities
Acunetix – a Windows based application to test
the website – developed by a UK based
company, was designed and is still in
prominent use by developers to test the
vulnerabilities in the website, but the technical
expertise of hackers to this tool allows them
access to point out the weakness levels of the
website. Once the site is identified for attack,
this tool is used by hackers to check the
vulnerability of the website, as all websites
qualified in level 1 may not be susceptible to
attack.
Since the hackers have in-depth knowledge of
the above mentioned software, they can not
only crack the version from a trial one, but
the cracked version is also available freely
amongst the hacker community. Once they
enter the URL or website address in this
software they are able to point out the
loopholes in the website and all they do is,
move to step 3.
Step 3: The Attack on the website – SQL
Injection
The SQL injection is the easiest and the most
used way by hackers to hack into a website. It
is used by hackers to hack into user accounts
and steal information stored into its databases.
This attack aims at information stealing using
some lines of code of SQL (Structured Query
List) which is a database programming
language. The hacker’s don’t even have to learn
the language for this attack, as there is an
available software called “Havij” in the hacker
forums where it is available free of cost. It
comes as an easily useable application. Havij is
originally a development from Iran. The word
itself means carrot, a bad-slang for the word
penis, ultimately meaning that the hack-ware
helps penetrating a website.
Havij has 2 versions – paid and unpaid, both
of them differential in powers of penetrating,
although the paid version can be cracked and
downloaded from other hacker forums. The
interface of this software completely simple
like any other windows application, which does
its work when a newbie hacker just copies the
link of the website needed to hack and pastes
it into the application.
The tasks Havij can perform are very
surprising. The best one for them and worst
for the users of the website is called “Get”. It
fetches all the data stored in the target
website’s databases which range from
usernames, passwords to phone numbers and
bank details.
It is so easy for hackers that within a couple
of minutes of their time, in which they can
search, download, and use one or two
automated hack-wares that allows them to
access websites which are vulnerable to such
attacks. Very much assured, that the websites
of high profile companies like Google,
Microsoft and Facebook are completely safe
from such tools. As mentioned before, the
vulnerability of the web is displayed by the
attack made on Sony’s PlayStation Network
which led to the leaking of their customers’
personal information in a very similar way.
Step 4: The DDoS – The A Game
SQL Injection has been used by the infamous
hacktivist community – Anonymous for over a
year now, but they tend to go forth with the
DDoS when simple tools like the Havij don’t
work. Again like the SQL (pronounced Sequel)
Injection attack there are freely available tools
for the DDoS as well.
As it appears, the DDoS is also as simple as the
SQL Injection attack. The program used here is
called the Low Orbit Ion Cannon (LOIC), which
was brought to life by web developers for
stress testing their own websites, but was later
hijacked by hackers to attack the websites for
non-social use.
The LOIC is available to the hackers freely on
the website Source Forge. Again as simple as
the Havij, the hackers just have to type in the
link of the website they want to DDoS and the
application does the rest. LOIC overloads the
server of the target website with upto 200
requests per second.
Now again, the bigger websites can easily cope
up with this type of an attack without crashing,
most of the other websites cannot. Surely if a
group of hackers, although newborn, dedicates
itself to the job, it is very easy for them to
complete it.
This type of technology horrifies the readers,
but it is very simple to use by the hackers that
they can even control it from their phones,
meaning that they could well be watching a
movie with their buddies in the cinema while
attacking the website they want to bring down.
This is not an exhaustive list and processes
how the hackers execute the act but there are
many a tutorials on various hacking forums
that teach how to perform the attack. There is
no end to this notoriousness, in many cases a
heinous crime, which has caused a loss of
millions and millions of dollars to the world.
So are you going to get your website checked
through your developer today? May be today
would be a real good day to get it done.

3 basic tips to prevent ddos attack

3 Basic Tips to Prevent A DDoS Attack
Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks are
always in top headlines worldwide, as they are
plaguing websites in banks, and virtually of
almost every organization having a prominent
online presence. The main cause behind the
proliferation of DDoS attacks is that there is a
very low-cost that the attacker has to incur to
put such attack in motion. Fortunately, today
various prevention methods have been
developed to tackle such attacks. Before
delving further into understanding about the
ways to prevent DDoS attack, let’s first
understand what exactly a DDoS attack is!
Understanding DDOS Attack
A DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attack is
an attempt made by attackers to make
computers’ resources inaccessible to its
anticipated user. In order to carry out a DDOS
attack the attackers never uses their own
system; rather they create a network of zombie
computers often called as a “Botnet” – that is a
hive of computers, to incapacitate a website or
a web server.
Let’s understand the basic idea! Now, the
attacker notifies all the computers present on
the botnet to keep in touch with a particular
site or a web server, time and again. This
increases traffic on the network that causes in
slowing down the speed of a site for the
intended users. Unfortunately, at times the
traffic can be really high that could even lead
to shutting a site completely.
3 Basic Tips to Prevent a DDoS Attack
There are several ways to prevent the DDOS
attack; however, here in this guest post I’ll be
covering three basic tips that will help you to
protect your website from the DDoS attack.
One of the easiest methods is to ensure that
you have sufficient bandwidth on your web.
You’ll be able to tackle lots of low-scale DDOS
attacks simply by buying more bandwidth so as
to service the requests. How does it help?
Well, distributed denial of service is a nothing
more than a game of capacity. Let’s suppose
you have 10,000 computer systems each
distributing 1 Mbps directed towards your
way. This means you’re getting 10 GB of data
that is hitting your web server every second.
Now, that’s causes a lot of traffic!
So to avoid such issue, you need to apply the
same rule intended for normal redundancy.
According to this technique, if you wish to
have more web servers just multiply around
diverse datacenters and next make use of load
balancing. By spreading your traffic to various
servers will help you balance the load and will
most likely create large space adequate to
handle the incessant increase in traffic.
However, there’s a problem with this method
that is buying more bandwidth can be a costly
affair. And as you’ll know that the current
DDoS attacks are getting large, and can be a lot
bigger exceeding your budget limit.
A lot of network or Internet-service providers
render DDoS mitigation capabilities. Look for
an internet service provider having the largest
DDoS protection and mitigation network,
automated tools, and a pool of talented anti-
DDoS technicians with the wherewithal to take
action in real-time as per the varying DDoS
attack characteristics. A viable alternative is to
utilize a DDoS prevention appliance, which is
specifically intended to discover and prevent
distributed denial-of-service attacks.
In case you have computer systems that are
connected to the web directly, a better idea is
to properly install/configure your routers and
firewall so as to limit the connectivity. For an
instance, while receiving some data from a
client machine you can only allow traffic to
pass from the machine only on a few chosen
ports (like HTTP, POP, SMTP etc.) via the
firewall.
Wrapping Up!
Websites are largely getting attacked by
hackers every second. Denial-of-service attack
is insanely getting huge and is creating a lot of
problems for business organizations having
strong online vicinity. In this guest post you’ll
not only understand what a DDoS attack
actually means, but will also come to know
about a few type of methods to prevent DDoS
attacks. Aforementioned are three tips that I’ll
recommend you to run through to at least
understand where to get started towards
building a resilient web network with chances
of surviving a DDoS attack.

About the porsche

All Porsche sports cars were meant to be
raced. The cars while quite good at the normal
daily driving, really come alive on a track,
especially when race prepped. While Porsche
mainly races the Porsche 911 and at times
special race variants, cars such as the Porsche
914, Porsche 944, Porsche Boxster and
Porsche Cayman (just to name a few) have
shown to be very good on the track.
Need proof of this? Just look at what Dan
Clarke has done with a Porsche Cayman S in
the Intercontinental Trophy Cup Series. Last
Sunday at the New Jersey Motorsports Park he
dominated the competition in the series. While
I love the Porsche 911, one does wonder why
Porsche doesn’t look at the possibility of a
Porsche Cayman race car. Just think of a
Porsche Cayman RSR with the same power as
the Porsche 911! The handling would be
brilliant and then it would have a lot of power
(although the 330 hp in the Porsche Cayman
that Dan drove is not bad). It could be such a
good car that it could possibly beat the
Porsche 911 on many tracks.
While the Porsche 911 makes a great race car
and a good driver can do some really amazing
things with the platform, one has to wonder if
the more balanced Porsche Cayman would end
up being a faster car overall. You would loose
a lot of traction, but should be able to take
the corners a bit faster and if the power was
the same it could make for an interesting race.
While I don’t think Porsche will (or should)
abandon the Porsche 911 race car, the
addition of a Porsche Cayman race car would
be interesting (it may also help increase sales
as people like to drive what they see raced). I
doubt it will ever happen, but then at one time
Porsche did race the Porsche 924 Carrera GT
at Le Mans, so anything is possible.

5 things u dont know about arnold schwarzenegger

He’s back! "Governator" Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to the big screen in the explosive action drama "Sabotage" from director David Ayer (5 things u dont know about arnold schawzeneger"Training Day"). This time, Arnold leads an elite DEA team in an attempt to take down one of the world’s deadliest drug cartels. Celebratory cigars are on hold after the mission’s success, though, because Arnie’s team starts getting picked off one by one, making everyone a suspect. Arnold and director David Ayer took to Reddit for an "AMA" and Fox On Reddit has captured the greatest and weirdest five things you may not have known about "The Governator," like what’s his favorite one-liner and what is his spirit animal?
